Fine for around the house in case of a power outage or around camp after dark. Even for taking our puppy out this was a life saver.

Good quality headlamp. Simple straightforward head lamp. Best headlamps ever for walking in the dark.

Includes 3 aaa batteries too. Lightweight, varying light intensities, and choice of using aaa batteries or a rechargeable one. Also accepts li-ion rechargeables.

Floody is also helpful if you're tinkering with the fuse box while the power is out. Like a freight train barreling thru a tunnel, this light just takes you there!

Cons

I think i have a bum headlamp. There are no instructions on the paper that comes with it. The rechargeable one i got at walmart works a lot better and is much brighter.

Otherwise i am very happy with the quality and performance of this unit!

The worst part is they suck batteries like crazy, after just 90 minutes of use per day they are dimming after 3 days.

Gonna bite the bullet and get a petzl actik core 600 lumen headlamp and go from there.

I wouldn't stake my success on the star course with this, but it is a great little light for the price.

Competitiveness

This is the most reliable and rugged headlight i purchased thus far, it lasts longer than other brands costing twice as much.

I'm very glad my son turned me on to this brand versus inferior [imported] off-brands.
