Highlights
Quality
It didn't feel like roanhorse was just ticking boxes, but was genuine with the rep and i have a special place in my heart for xiala.
I fell in love with the characters and the story.
I am very excited for the sequel!
Not completely done with the book but so far so good!
Shipping
The siren mermaid badass protagonist who is the captain of the ship.
Packaging/appearance
As we get closer to the convergence, the pages fly by.
Competitiveness
”easily a five-star read and i cannot wait to see what happens next.
Like magae vs magi vs magus, just learn it and accept it is a part of the world.
🔆the representation fornthe lgbtqia+ community was wonderful.
Danger for sure, and possibly the dawning of a new world.

As expected in a first book of a series focus was on worldbuilding and introducing characters so no surprise with pacing i tend to appreciate a good slow burn especially if the plot and characters are engaging like black sun
