The characters are realistic, interesting, and vibrant.

Black sun is an exceptionally interesting book using a mythological/religious/political plot. She surprises you with fantasy that feels real and solid.

Cons

The romance in this book is minimal at best. Granted, this is a fantasy book and not promoted as a romance. While his chapters weren’t bad, the audiobook narration for him was awful, which is a bummer.

Teek is like what we know as mermaids? They pronounce xe as shay and xir as sheer, so that did throw me off a little because i was expecting them to sound more like zee and zeer?

I don't have a problem with the euro/celtic works, but it's nice to read stories based on more diverse cultures.

Also, for some reason i thought this story was taking place on a spaceship, not a literal ship.

Very good characters and a complex world.

So much so i had recently become frustrated with myself and my rate of earc tbr reading seemingly piling up with no results.
