I realize its overkill to use such a card for capturing vhs and old camcorder projects but i wanted something by a brand name that would come with support and decent software and good video quality there are so many garbage noname usb adapters that i didnt expect quality or good results out of

Doing the rendering in davinci with a spinning drive serving up the file if it was the same drive that originally captured it is excruciating seems the data is randomly written and the head has to seek endlessly which is a nonissue with solid state

Any of you wanting to do the same thing capturing ntsc need a separate utility to configure the input of the card to ntsc and such not hdmi or analog component

Also as others have noted you need a pcie x4 slot not x1 likely taxes the bus when you try and ingest 4k30 over hdmi cant imagine what size files youd be dealing with in those cases
