I don't think you need to buy any special brand of ssd to use with this camera, it should work with just about anything.

As of now if you want to use it outdoors you will need to lug a lot of heavy equipment around extension cords and possibly generators

The official way to achieve this is to use a usb c ssd and this works well except that it can only record in braw format and for that you will need to download bmd davinci resolve or the bmd raw player the latter works fine in linux however the former is difficult to get working in most linux distros and will usually require some tweaking plus it is extremely difficult to uninstall completely

Yes in theory you could simply connect directly to osb and bypass ssd recording completely but this will only suit you if you are always recording close to where your computer is located or you only use a portable computer with the appropriate inputs for hdmi

Since i cant afford that product yet i used a cheap capture card for the same purpose although when i am able i will be buying the proper video assist product because i think that will give optimal results plus i will so be buying the bmpc so i can get around some of the recording limitations of this camera
