If you're not using another fabric with the material, you'll probably need two layers to really block the light.
It is not high enough quality to be used as curtains by themselves but perfect as a liner and works great.

Stapled this to my windows to make my room pitch black i work nights i put my nice curtains over it and you can’t even tell it’s behind it

Cut it to cover the window pane put velcro around edges and it makes it super dark
