With the big shot i now can solder 1-2 square pieces of sterling sheet together (for layered designs) expands what i can do at home.

My one annoyance is that now after 2 years of nearly daily use the ignition system has gotten touchy and doesnt ignite the flame on the first go

As far as being able to control ur flame its not the greatest it takes me more time to get the flame right then it does to actually use the piece and 90 of the time i have to hold the knob desired flame size with my fingers so like i said reliability is great but the flame control method on these units arent good
