It has a funky burning smell in the two days since my purchase but blendtec notes this on their very short operating guide its the motor breaking in and should go away in a few days

Then also the top is kind of annoying because the middle part falls out easily the entire top doesnt really lock on and even when that middle thing is perfectly seated it has holes in the side of it so there is the potential for a mess coming out of the top

And speaking of tops with my previous blender i could take the top off while still blending and nudge bits of unblended material off of the sides and back into the mix but with this one again even at the lowest speed opening it up means stuff spitting out all over the place

I gave it four stars because i recognize that most products on the market today are probably even worse but honestly for all that money i would rather buy a time machine and go back to when things were wellmade and none of us knew global warming was coming

We did not receive a user manual with it so are trying to figure it out as we go
