Pros & Cons
Pros
Alen is rated for a cadr (clean air delivery rate) of 347 cfm on max/turbo speed. Three speed setting are good. Fan speeds 1 & 2 are quiet enough that you could easily sleep with those speeds selected. It runs on low speed, which is very quiet on ... Read More
Every square inch is used to filter the air. I hardly see any dust build up on my furniture.
The unit comes with a rectangular box shaped filter. The replacement filters are a bit pricey but worth every penny.
The only reason i put a 4 by “ maneuverability’ is that it’s a bit heavy. This thing is very solidly built - steel and heavy. But this is also a plus - it doesn't wobble or ramble like the cheaper-made, plastic ones.
Arrived very quickly and packaged very well. Really glad i finally bit the bullet and got a second one. Ps these are heavy metal but that’s a good thing and medical quality.
Cons
On high it is very very loud. On low it feels like almost no air is moving. My unit is unplugged because the noise is so annoying.
The wifi/app function is tricky, if you have mac address control. The app requires taking over your wifi and logging in through the unit which is a security issue.
Hepasilent filters are not hepa. They are blueair's own design that only work as well as true hepa when charged particles go through the filter. For a high-end product that sells for $600-$800, it's simply a rip-off.
Not made in sweden. It is made in china/asia. Their privacy policy is that they can sell your data to any vendor they choose and personally that is total bs if you are paying a lot for a piece of hardware. I contacted customer support via the company ... Read More
This air purifier has a major flaw that has made it virtually unusable. I googled blueair sour smell and lo and behold found that there are a number of other users that have documented similar experiences.

Price
Love this and got it way on sale- so bonus!
The filter, while expensive, is easy and simple to change.
I bought this on sale and have not thought twice about it.
I just ordered some aftermarket filters for almost 1/3 the cost so i'll see if those are just as good.
Packaging/appearance
I got it “like new” for about $100 off in the original packaging, no damage for a fantastic price!
It looks like it was never opened just returned so ecstatic about that!

The cons are its not as easily maneuverable as some of them and the remote was so small and flimsy that we lost it within the first few months

I have not had the unit long enough to need to replace the filters yet so i cant comment on how long they last or whether theyre expensive for how long they last
