The cord is very thick and long and hard to hide. I also now see in amazon reviews that the plastic is not bpa. It stores a small (but significant) amount of cold water around the spout so you have to pour that out each time.

I did get some discoloration on the metal plate in the first couple weeks as other reviewers pointed out but it washed off easily with some bon ami and has yet to come back

It keeps hot at the temperature you selected until you pick up the kettle so if you want a 2nd cup the keep warm has already shut off when you pulled it off for your first cup

I never wonder what is happening inside in the darkness because there isnt any

Also the ones that are plastic even though i know it must be fine i never want to drink anything coming out of hot plastic
