I also like the quality of the glass and the stainless steel strainer.

This is much more sturdy than expected.

I've been using bodum products for years, and their glass ware is extra hardened and you need to be very unlucky for it to break.

The water that is trapped in this area creates resistant pressure, and it makes it almost impossible to push the plunger all the way down.

Price

However, for this price tag, i don't feel i should hack around the filter/lid issue.

It's a little pricy but it is a nice large size; really good quality.

I am amazed how it got to our house by usps without being broken.
