Pros

This makes 12oz of product. I'm the only one that drinks decaf so i make it myself instead of in the office coffee machine. This fills up my mug just to the right level and it's easy to wash.

The quality is good, i trust the brand, and the customer service is excellent. It's so refreshing to find a corporate customer service line not staffed by total *.

Only hang-up is the quantity of coffee grinds used seems disproportionate to the brewed coffee produced. The only other bad point is that it seems to cool down fast, so i have to wrap it while brewing. Stir grounds and water just off a boil.

Cons

Cup coffee maker is very small, only 12 oz. It is not 3 mugs of coffee, and it isn't even 3 standard cups. Such a disappointment. I want to return it, because the 34 ounce press is not what i ordered.

The plastic handle, bottom, and lid make it very difficult to put together and take apart. The wire/mesh filter/plunger is not tight against the glass, so it falls down on top of the grounds. The glass/metal one is much better and requires less cleanu... Read More

Stay a way from the thermos makers, since the grinds are still "in contact" with the coffee, the coffee turns bitter after a while.

They admitted the product had a flaw, fixed it for free, and that was that.

Competitiveness

I intend to keep buying bodum for all my coffee needs.

The plunger seems to be the same gauge as the larger bodums.

Use only bodum makers, cheaper brands "leak" the coffee grinds back into the coffee.
