Packaging/appearance
Was going to return but i decided to try a different strainer, the hario f-103s cloth covered strainer, it worked perfectly.
But 200 degree plus coffee in a plastic pot, no matter the reason, is exactly why i use the pour-over method in a glass carafe.
Brewed coffee would not return through the ridiculous plastic strainer to the bottom.
Competitiveness
It brews about 6 5oz cups & requires no filters.
I still own a working electric bodum santos (the father of this new epebo) and it has been in service for a long time now.
Pair a bodum vacuum brewer with excellent quality coffee beans, freshly ground, and you've got coffee heaven.

I hope this machine is reliable as i had a santos electric vacuum by bodum but failed and bodum would not repair
