As for the cork and leather grip i like that it comes off to clean though its quite the hassle to take off and put back on and the clasp on the leather strap is quite bulbous and makes gripping the cork hard unless you move it to the front of the bodum in which case the strap tries to fall into the cup youre pouring into

The reusable filter is wonderful i have had issues with small amounts of coffee grounds getting through but if you leave a few drips in the bottom of the beaker they wont get in your cup

We always had an issue with the little 24 cup coffee machines because eventually they leak and water gets all over the countertop and stains

It more or less works the same way except that you pour the boiling water over the grounds instead of the machine
