Pros
Perfect tabletop unit for my small office. Makes me think of ink jet printers. Unique about this one is that it is a swiss company rather than your typical sunbeam.

The adjustment knob on the machine has options for low, high and clean. This boneco makes a soft bubbling noise that is not bad at all. Yes, it is noisier than ultrasonic.
Steam becomes more visible as it cools and disperses less. My main objection, though, is the cost of the cleaning supplies. The indicator light is bright, but you can cover it with some pillow or something.
Both units run 5-6 hours per day, and have worked flawlessly. Works well for me because i only want to have it run overnight.
Cons
Not worth the price, honeywell is 1/3 the price works better easy to clean. It is very inefficient.
When it manages to work, operation is very quiet--almost like a white noise machine. Blue light supposedly indicates when the device is functioning correctly. If it bothers you, there are noiseless options out there.

In general i'm satisfied with the device, although i think it's a bit overpriced.
This product comes with instructions (a diagram), with the option of looking for further assistance online.
Bright blue lights are not conducive to quality sleep.
My biggest issue with the obnoxious bright blue led ring around the control knob.
Price
Very good product and price very reasonable.
I guess that is the cost of comfort.
Competitiveness
They do not have a humidistat, so you have to turn it on and off as needed.

But they do make a model with a humidistat for automatic operation.
I think that when a brand puts a switch on their nightlights, they will out sell every other humidifier on the market.
