The thermometer tells you the temprature of the glass or bottle holding your wine not the exact temprature of the wine

However the thermometer is pretty accurate and i have found that most wines inclduing reds do taste a little better when you get the bottle to the right temprature as indicated in the included chart

Would be goodbetter if it came with a chart indicating which wines should be served at which temperatures
