You can adjust the bottom plate so that the blade is perpendicular - you use a protractor. The motor has the least vibration of any jigsaw i've ever used.

I have never had a good jig saw before, and this one is an enormous improvement over those $49 specials i have had in the past.

Tiger saw would be cheaper, but it don't cope.

I went and quickly bought the bosch and am glad i did.

    So the 1587 will now get retired to the home shop and parts will be ordered and installed to make it work well around the house

    Its not exactly 34intuitive34 but if you read the instructions once it makes perfect sense
