Pros
Only con is the brightness tends to very on the plumb settings from one side to another which is sometimes a problem if the room has much sunlight. The green is waaay better than the red in almost all comparable light conditions.
The * level has been a life saver. The self leveling capabilities are outstanding.
Super easy and much better than a chalk line in my opinion. Cal guard connects to your phone to notify you of drops that will need calibration checks.
The bm-1 is a well manufactured and robust stand in most areas. Has tripod legs to extend for stability. The stand has a built in gear which allows raising and lowering the laser about 4 and is very smooth and has good drag so it doesn't wobble.
As a pro carpenter for decades this tool works as described. I am a very particular tile setting contractor and this tool changed my life.
Cons
Needs to remove the statement about receivers. This unit is over priced and doesn't last. Come on - design a unit that will last a whole day without needing batteries?
Two slots in the box are missing parts, i assume to do with power delivery to the tool. I install fry reglet and that small difference has caused many problems. The missing part -(1) bat414 12v max battery,.

Charged the battery first thing for an hour or until the led stopped flashing.
It has never been subjected to rough handling, jarring, or abuse.

Inside the box: this little (or not so little) laser should have its own contoured foam-cut-out, not that barebones pouch.
Competitiveness
In my opinion, this is the best option in its price range.
I have seen other types of lasers that are more expensive and can't even place a line below the laser.

Setup the laser on a table in middle of yard turned it on and could see no lines

I checked close up and could see the line on my arm about a foot from the laser but their was no line on the walls which were less than 15 away
