Pros

It works very well and did the job i needed. Its fairly big, but sturdy. It is accurate and robust. Easy to follow instructions with illustrations of usage.

It comes in a large kit box with various attachments and guide rails. Comes with a range of different interchangeable chucks, so it will accept different diameter bit shafts. Bought to cut grooves for 10mm underfloor heating plastic pipes.

This model uses a push button system to lock the spindle while changing the bit and this part wears out extremely quickly (i suspect internally it's plastic) the adaptable chuck can easily stick and it is too snug to get the bit in without force - thi... Read More

Depth gauge is stiff and inaccurate. The depth adjustment is terrible - very fiddly and unreliable.

It's not the easiest thing to set up. The plunge mechanism is laughable, sticky and clumsy. Ergonomically, the handles are not large and the cable running out of one leaves it feeling a bit one-sided.

You may think "it's only a box" but the box allows the tool to be stowed under the stairs cupboard and be easy to identify.

Competitiveness

From studying information from manufacturer's web sites, it is easy to adjust the dewalt and the makita to 0.
