Pros
The clarity is exceptional and the bass is rich. Game dialogue is exceptionally crisp. The absence of a subwoofer holds the bose companion 2 series iii back.
The imaging is outstanding. Great value, great sound. But i was shocked from the voice quality.
Cons
Sound quality is similar/slightly worse in mid ranges. Must have gotten a faulty speaker. Absolute lack of midrange voicing or bass.
Bose used to be half decent, seems they are just running on the name and cutting corners these days. Very shoddy quality control.

Reasons to buy+ bose, while not the best brand, is a "safe" brand for people who can't be bothered to do any research or sound testing.

I can imagine that people would find these speakers lacking if they listen to a lot of bassheavy music such as hiphop

If you want bass youd definitely want to buy a separate subwoofer or go for the klipsch promedia 2
