I do not use the app features as i dont have wifi at home and so this speaker is not installed therefore i am unable to comment on the app

However when playing cuban jazz it was much worse then my hi fi speakers

It had too much bass was muddy and unclear difficult to hear definition of individual instruments and the top end was poor

To conclude this is a very good speaker for casual listening but if you want to reproduce the sound of real acoustic instruments it presents a false contrived image with too much bass
