Its a little unclear to me whether the battery is supposed to last five years or ten years but either way that is a huge improvement over the smoke detector batteries im used to which seem to last a year at most

Also i am hoping that they will be more discriminating between burned toast smoke and real housefire smoke

Nothing is more annoying than false alarms from smoke detectors and they are actually dangerous because people tend to disregard the alarms

My neighbors house just burned down 4alarm fire and although the smoke detectors sounded the alarm the family on the second floor paid no attention because they thought it was just the usual false alarm
