The screen does provide privacy and glare reduction

But it darkens the screen to a point where you can barely see the screen on a sunny day even with the phone set at the brightest setting

If you wear sunglasses it makes it impossible to see the screen and you will be constantly lifting the sunglasses in order to look at your phone
