I buy them because i need them for such a great thermometer, but those caps are simply a ripoff. But no. Why are these things so * expensive anyway?

A few things to also note; the packaging is different than what is shown on amazon's website.

Competitiveness

It’s the oroginal braun and it fits perfectly on my 13 year old thermoscan.

Just as a comparison; buying one box of the lens filters cost around $7.
