My only gripe is that the photo shows a dark handle with dark *. Still works perfectly and heats up quickly.

This water kettle is a dream. This is the longest surviving household appliance i own. The only unfortunate component to this review is that braun apparently no longer makes electric kettles for sale in the us.

Boils water fast than stovetop. Never use a gas stove again. Safe to handle; also automatically cuts off when water boils. Very fast boilup.

The plastic smell was worrisome at the beginning, but after multiple uses, the smell went away completely.

I was a bit hesitant about purchasing this kettle because of the price tag but i must say, it was definitely worth it.

This one seemed like one of the best for a reasonable price.

As much as i want another one, there is no way that i'll pay $169 for it.

Competitiveness

We have had 2 corded electric tea kettles and they don't even compare to this one.

If this one ever wears out, i'm definitely getting the same brand.
