This isn't just a story; it's a mirror held up to our society, all decked out in sci-fi glitz but grappling with the meaty stuff. The idea of a utopian society, with cast systems firmly in place, leads to horrors.

Universal happiness keeps the wheels steadily turning; truth and beauty can’t. In a society where everyone is happy, he's miserable. Freedom from discomfort is quite literally a bottle of soma away. Happiness is never grand.

There is lots of carryover and similarities with what's been and is taking place in current society. Most teachers are complicit (if not brazenly active) in leading each generation further.
