The foot unit has a neon in it that lights up when power is on. This saves any bending and ensures all my electronic gadgets are turned off.
This is brilliant. For the purpose intended it is very good and i recommend it.

I set up the extension lead and plugged everything into it except the virgin tivo box as this needs to be left on 24hrs a day

I looked at radio controlled plugs but they were all more expensive and according to comments prone to failure

On the other hand it might be a good idea not to mash it with your size 12s it might not last long
