Pros & Cons
Pros
This gives you a cafe quality coffee. My partner is a mad coffee drinker and very particular. Coffee taste as barista.
It has enough features to do a burr grinder, a job pressurised basket, pid and good pressure. Only issue is that it doesn't come with a coffee scooper. Setting the machine up for a perfect shot can take time and be finicky.
The frothing is beautiful and the microfilm shown in their videos is achievable. I can make a latte with about 3/4 an inch of foam in a 500ml glass, using the standard-sized jug. My next challenge is to get some latte art happening.
Cons
For an expensive piece like this, the lack of durability and poor customer service is unacceptable. The machine is at the repair centre for the second time with a busted group head. Seems there is a fault with the coffee shot pour.
Highlights
Quality
Easy to use, adjustable to suit a variety of taste, excellent crema
It has enough features to do this: a burr grinder, a job pressurised basket, pid and good pressure, and a good steam wand.
Our old breville broke down after 10 years of solid use.
This is my 2nd of this model machine - the first lasted12 or so years before getting an internal leak.
Price
Got it with discounted price so that made the satisfaction higher ;)
For what it’s priced at, it’s definitely a great buy and produces great coffee.
I've had to return the product as it is over the $250 threshold.
However for this price i don’t think you can beat this setup.
Shipping
They have confirmed the product sent in error has been received back but i still have to wait.
Loved how quickly it arrived as i couldn’t survive otherwise.
Arrived from qld, ordered it 8pm got it 11am the following morning.
Packaging/appearance
The box has loads of extras, everything you need (except, strangely, a thermometer for the milk).
Be careful of the box, the edges are sharp and gave me a nasty paper cut but otherwise 10/10.
Competitiveness
I bought this particular type of coffee machine, because the steam wand has the closest similarities to a real commercial machine.
I'd checked everything - except i hadn't actually compared the grounds from the previous grind with the current one.
