Pros
The steam wand is great, with the auto-heat sensor. My only complaint about the machine is when the steam wand automatically purges, milk gets everywhere. When finished steaming milk, swirl the milk and foam together in the pitcher.

It's unacceptable for a $1000 machine. Breville banks on shiny fancy looks to sell their overpriced garbage. The product warranty is also awful because breville knows that they did not build a durable machine.
The temperature fluctuates too much. With a non-pressurized basket, the temperature is ~150f. It would be so easy to set the temperature too high by mistake--there's no way to check it--and to scald yourself or someone else.
Never brewed consistently from the get go. It is clean and all the holes are clear but it is unable to froth. Brew temp issues with unequal cups every single brew.
The touch screen is not nearly as responsive as your phone. The contents of the screen lag behind your finger and the frame rate is choppy while scrolling. Breville support is atrocious. It makes excellent espresso, but ours was disfunctional from the... Read More

I spent over 3,500 dollars a year on buying coffee from coffee shops.
It seems they want you to send the machine to them for a $400 refurbishment rather than sell you parts.
Pricey, but i purchased it on sale and would definitely purchase it again!
It’s pricey for sure but she no longer goes out for coffee everyday.

The tamper was not in the box when it arrived.
Competitiveness
This is a great multifunction machine for anyone looking to make a similar espresso to what you would get in italy.
Even a philips head would be better.
I found replacement o-rings (size 007 and 010 in silicone and viton) from amazon along with the all-metal pump.

Early on i had to send the machine to breville for a boiler replacement when calcium clogged the drain valves
