This blender whips up a smoothie no time flat. The jug is not plastic, but something they call copolyester and it is very thick and sturdy, but lightweight. The blades are incorporated into jug.
The rubber seal on the lid is a little aggressively tight to me.

My previous blender was much less expensive but underpowered.
Although it's a bit pricey, it's a worthwhile investment for a superior culinary experience.

On the negative side i was disappointed that this blender is every bit as noisy as the old one it replaced since most appliances now are very quiet
