Pretty much plug and play but there is a short learning curve for getting really good at it but that goes for any espresso machine you’re looking at

This item was to replace another breville espresso machine i had for about 10 years which finally started leaking probably the gasket in the water heating unit

Love the machine easy to use great coffee my only negative comment on it is that it is hard to put the portafilter on once its been filled no matter of you filled it or not its not easy to get it on or off
