Pros

All you need to pull your first expresso is the coffee, water and a cup. I make better espressos and cappuccinos with the breville. I use mostly french roast from decent roasters - whatever happens to be on sale at the time.

The milk steamer works beautifully. Excellent steaming and steam temperature. Quickly turn steam back on for a second to flush wand.

The barrisimo machine has a built-in bean hopper that burr grinds the beans. This makes the dosing more accurate so you end up wasting less beans. The only negative is that the bean container is too low and flat.

the machine rocks. Customer service is top notch.

Cons

The steamer spit a stream of water out for a good 10 seconds. At 13 months it is out of warranty for me. Great design, lousy quality, lousy support.

The grind amount adjuster no longer works and the grind size adjuster doesn't work. The beans just sit there. If you want a latte, breva', or cappuccino, this bitter espresso might work just fine.
