The exterior gets scalding hot because it's not insulated. Also, it does not have a temperature adjustment, it is a boil only kettle.

This is super well made and works great!

I love this kettle for its ease of use, fast boiling speed, and auto shut-off feature.

This is second almost identical one we got, first one works for us for more, then 15 years and just recently stop functioning.

At $75, this worked out to about $4/month.

A little pricey, but hope to have this for a long time.
