Pros & Cons
Pros
The breville has 5 speed options and a few 'press once and it'll blend options. This blender always makes a very smooth smoothie – although the protein powder does fluff the drink up a little bit and the seeds from strawberries are not pulverized. The... Read More
It has a bit of trouble outperforming them on tougher items. This yields a mostly satisfactory product that could still benefit from a straining.
The breville blender is very easy to clean. It is dishwasher safe. Easy cleanup and looks great on my counter.
This thing is pretty good, but it'll still make your cat shoot into the sky. Works very well, been using it for many months now without a single complaint. I like it alot.
Cons
This blender is only used to make smoothies and even then has only been used on average once a week. I think it's laughable that after that short time i should have to replace an entire pitcher because of a cheap blade assembly that apparently isn't u... Read More
It's a safety problem, it's hard plastic! Duds happen so i contacted breville service. Having removed every visible screw from the base, it remains steadfastly stuck to the upper cover. It is so leaky it is unuasable and has made a huge mess in the ki... Read More
After only a few months, the motor squeals horribly after a few seconds of use. If you hit any of the blend functions, the timer starts going but the motor does not spin up. It appears the rubber/plastic drive socket no longer makes good contact with ... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Very strong, sturdy and powerful, can't go wring with this choice
Very sturdy (toughest blender i've ever owned).
After light use, the gasket failed on the jug, putting chopped up bits of black gasket into the food.
- lid comes with a centerpiece that broke after 2 weeks of use.
Price
I love this; it was expensive but it works the best
Best value i've seen in a blender.
Alternatives and a note on pricing:for half of july 2016, the breville was $199.
If i was willing to spend $200, i also wanted something capable of everything a high end blender can do: pureeing, pulverizing ... Read More
Packaging/appearance
Bought this item as a gift, so i was there for the unboxing and initial use, mulching green veg for saag.
Competitiveness
Cheaper than blendttec, no teflon leakage like vitamix ( cheaper than that too) and the power control options are better than both.
Given that, i feel that this blender is likely the best available machine at the sub-vitamix price point.
Competitors in the class are often 1100w or 1400w, more suited to heavy duty blending.
Most competitors use a tamper (think long stick) where you have to manually shove things down, but the breville does a pretty g... Read More
