Pros
It toasts my bread perfectly even and fast! Cleaning is easy with a slide out tray! The long slots are terrific for those long artisan bread slices. Features like 'a bit more' and 'a quick look' are great when toasting new items.
Good quality, solid build and the lift feature is great. My only complaint is the plug.
Cons
This is nothing but extreme planned obsolescence. I am overwhelmingly disappointed that this overpriced toaster is going to cost me 300$ for barely 2 years of use.
The toaster was cleaned and babied. The heat is uneven and inconsistent. I often find myself scraping blackened edges off of toast that is barely toasted on the other side. It no longer toasts on both sides.
The breville web site is basically useless. Worked one day and not the next day. Very disappointed since it was a great toaster when it did work, looks nice and cost a lot.
A limited one year warranty on over priced chinese junk.
Best to avoid. Like the plague! Don’t do it. Please, please, please--learn from mine and others' mistakes.

Over the past 3 years i had purchased at least 4 toasters that were not cheap but they did not toast evely on both sides.
Price
Well worth its price and looks great in the kitchen!
It’s pricey but we’ll worth the money
A hell of a price to pay for a toaster but i tired of last few cheapos that stopped working.
Packaging/appearance
Not to mention it looks very nice on my counter and gets attention from guests.
Competitiveness
While it is pricey, it's breville (which means good quality) and there's nothing better if you like bread that is extra wide or tall.

The way that it very quietly puts the bread down and then very quietly rises it up and alerts me with a soft tone when its done
