Pros & Cons
Pros
The breville precision brewer brews coffee in accordance with the amount of water you use. This has the most options out of what i researched for drip coffee including pid, timer, brewing a lot or a little coffee. The thermal carafe (a glass carafe ve... Read More
This is the most customizable machine we've ever used. The filters are a great perk. The customization on time makes all the difference.
The gold setting makes a very nice carafe of coffee. It brews a better cup of coffee than my buddy at his coffee/roasting shop. Also the gold brew makes great decaf - lots of flavor, and very smooth taste - can’t tell it’s decaf.
The breville coffee maker removes that burnt rough taste. The control over temperature and bloom as well as water flow makes this machine a tinkerers delight. Turned 5 coffee making gadgets into one machine and couldn't be more pleased.
The knob and * feel well made and the screen is easy to read. The brewer seems easy and straightforward on cleaning. Very easy and intuitive to use. This is important for neatness.
Cons
Overpriced and overrated. The odds of receiving 2 defective units that did not last beyond the warranty period are astronomically high. No mention of this water issue or the light issue in the product description or manual.
Maybe 1 out of 5 times this coffee maker produces coffee that is hot enough to be enjoyable or even drinkable. If you like lukewarm coffee, i guess this could work for you. It’s so inconsistent.
Highlights
Quality
It is easy to use, sturdy and makes a really good cup of coffee.
It has a small cup detection feature, adjustable bloom time, pid temperature control, and a thermo-coil heating system for perfect brews.
This carafe has a lot of thermal mass, which is good if you get that mass heated up before brewing.
Water filled, ground coffee in filter - filter in device along with carafe - use the top button to dial it to gold setting and ... Read More
Price
It's a great value for the price for a coffee maker with so many features.
I was nervous about spending so much on a coffee maker but this thing does not disappoint!
Also, a lot of the parts seemed cheap and plasticy for a $300 coffee maker.
It is a little expensive to buy.
Shipping
Plus, the water delivery speed control makes it feel like a high-tech gadget.
My only complaint is the price - i’m certain i over paid for it, but it came quickly with no hassle, so there’s that.
Packaging/appearance
Unboxing was simple with easy to review instructions on how to setup the unit, everything was very straight forward.
This unit however does not come with a glass or ceramic coffee drip show in the photos.
Her response to opening the package was sheer delight; therefore, although i cannot provide any personal input, it appears it w... Read More
The model i purchased came with a pour over adapter which is great with my hario v60.
Competitiveness
After cuisinarts, keurigs, ninjas, and bunns, this is the best coffee maker i’ve purchased.
Also, the team at seattle gear was incredibly helpful in assisting me in selecting the best grinder.
And since it doesn't have that steaming noise of a regular coffee maker, the overall noise level is less than a regular brewer,... Read More
Coffee tastes so much better compared to big box stores coffee makers.
