Pros & Cons
Pros
It's a good machine for making espresso and latte if you are a beginner who wants to learn. The interface is clean and logical allowing the user to make all the settings and adjustments for their desired coffee drink. The hopper holds about a week’s w... Read More
Manual frothing and tamping relieves a lot of confusion and anxiety. The timer is very convenient and honestly is just as good for figuring out if you need to dose or tamp more or less. A dosing cup is a must imo.
Cleaning is a snap with periodic one-touch flush and de-scale modes. Clean out the drainage tray, wipe down the steam wand, and clean out the portafilter. Both wands do a great job from low to high foam, and both wands are exceptionally easy to clean ... Read More
The thermojet heats up very fast and has a built in grinder. The steam wand creates genuine coffee house froth at the top of the milk. The milk foam insulates the coffee, so it stays hotter longer.
This brewer brews and spit out a perfect shot of espresso with only a couple of seconds of warm up. Faster than my nespresso breville machine!
Cons
At week 3-4 the steam began to become heavier from the drip tray. Sour and almost cold. The machine never reaches the correct temperature.
Highlights
Quality
The durable materials and stylish design have me swooning every time i walk into my kitchen.
The large water tank, adjustable grind size and the quick heating feature have made my mornings a whole lot easier and tastier.
Extraction itself has so far been inconsistent as well, which again may be part of the learning curve.
The coffee shack i was going to didn't have the quality of coffee that i can make from home.
Price
It’s a great value also and not hard to use at all.
I highly recommend this product, though it is costly you will in the long run find it perfecto.
That’s literally thousands of dollars saved not buying 1 cup of coffee per day at a coffee house and getting the same quality drink.
A barista pro at 600 or 800 dollars, depending on if you catch them on sale, will pay for itself in a matter of months and my f... Read More
Shipping
I was sent a return label for the malfunctioning machine and was shipped out a brand new machine within 2 days.
With a few pictures and 3 quick emails, they thabked me and sent me the tracking number for the new part.
Packaging/appearance
I was on the fence about buying used - acceptable but it was basically new in the box.
Competitiveness
This machine is much better than the earlier model.
I, with no doubt, will keep purchasing breville espresso machines as long as they keep making the same quality machines at the ... Read More
As they state there is a difference in the quality and taste between store bought beans and and those from a local supplier.

Two items worth noting is that you have to empty the drip tray frequently and i always wipe off the filter where the water flows into your cup as the ground coffee in the percolator leaves residual

You also need to keep an eye on the water reserves as it does use a lot of water
