As with the waffle maker - this does the job but doesn’t wear well.

Also the non stick is far superior, as is the amount of filling you can wedge in before it volcanos out of the side.
Competitiveness
Definitely worth the extra outlay for a toastie maker.
Since a toastie loaf was all we had, rather than the recommended supermarket own brand square loaf, i've been using this.
It is able to accommodate deeper filled sandwiches than most toastie machines i've tried - great if you want more fillings!
The toastie maker heats quickly, reaching temperature within a few minutes.

Reading reviews of all sandwich toasters made it so hard to actually buy one

There were lots of complaints that they’re not deep enough fill created mess hard to clean not hot enough takes too long to heat or doesn’t actually toast the bread etc

A problem i have found with both of these sandwich toaster is that no matter how careful i am with the cheese in the sandwich some always bubbles out and down the back of the toaster

The thickness of the sandwich has to be compressed and the clasp to close the handle is a little awkward

The cooking plates go into the dishwasher and the unit wipes down with a damp cloth

The plates are nonstick so you dont need to butter the outside just butter the inside then the outsides will be toasted

The 073 came out around 2016 and the 070 is new this year apparently
