Pleased to say it's not an issue for me as i've not encountered that problem with gluten-free bread slices.
Previously had a breville toaster which had been in use for many years.
My 8yrs autistic son can safely use it.

Having owned a breville toaster before which had a lighting system showing the process of the bread as it toasted this model was in my view a little disappointing
