It feels like it could it could be set in the dresden universe - just the poor, rural alabama version.

Witchcraft doesn’t make howard a fortune, but it helps him get by.

Ok so bob mcgough tells us that “howard marsh is a lot of things a liar a thief a poor man’s wizard” and he is all that and so much more some good some not so good but you know what i was for him and hoping for the best outcome in every situation he found himself in and some of the were real doozies
