Pros
New hood has a wider surface over my stove.
The fan is way quieter than the old unit that was yanked out. It has 2 speeds, & even the high speed is still twice as quiet as the other one in mid speed. The sound is quiet and actually pleasant and the led lights are bright.
To get the bulbs toclick and turn will take some finagling. Only criticism is the installation of the halogen bulbs. Had no issues installing bulbs using supplied suction cup installer. The halogen light looks great though.
It's a regular plug and my old micro had a weird 3 prong thing. Features built in tabs to hold it in place while hooking up the wiring. It replaces microwave that had seen its last days and i'm actually glad, since my cabinets are low and there wasn't... Read More
This is the sort of household project that can incite language worth of the saltiest sailor. Great fan and bright lights.
Cons
The box has a big dent in it that had to be there when they packaged it. The screens were literally broken into pieces. That is very unacceptable to ship out dented and broken items.
The self install rails are poor at best and leave a huge gap at the top of the unit where it marries to the cabinet. If you use this unvented, the slot for the air to exit points directly up toward the ceiling.

Very easy to install and moves air great.
Broan forces you to use halogen bulbs; old, highly inefficient technology that get red hot during use.
The suction cups won’t work with the first set i purchased.

All in all for 300 cfm and how good it sucks air you can’t beat it for the price

Also the delivery person threw it on the porch so hard i thought it would not work after installation.
The second one arrived within 2 days!
Packaging/appearance
It came very well packaged so as to avoid denting the hood.
Looks nice and sleek and matches my range.
Box had been previously opened, fan had fingerprints on it, and no plastic wrapping.
The only bad part of the packaging was how they attached the optional brackets.
Competitiveness
I’m very glad that i took a chance and bought this hood as opposed to buying a more expensive name brand.

I’d like it a tiny bit more if the surface of the vent screens were darker but maybe they won’t work as well that way don’t know
