Quality

My only complaint is with the charcoal filter which i needed to purchase as i'm using this in recirculating mode .

Ours is horizontally vented thru the wall with the broan #639 exterior wall cap.

I'm happy with the variable speed exhaust fan also.

Price

Wonderful workmanship, easy to install and the price was great.

Competitiveness

We don't use the one-setting nightlight but it is nice with dimmable bulbs.

The broan qt230ss convertible range hood was fairly easy to install with two people manhandling it.

The dampers occasionally flap on windy days but there is little backdraft compared to the old nutone damper.

There are others with more options, but come with a much higher price.

    The kitchen heat buildup which previously effected the entire house heating and hopefully cooling is now negligible
