Press share + cross again to switch to gamepad mode, which is followed by green led.
Only way this device could be better is if it allowed the right and left sticks to swap.

There are wireless options for the saturn, for which this works for as well, but for the dreamcast there aren't many.
The rumble feature alone for me makes the dreamcast version of mvc2 better than the ps3 hd version.

Its not plug and play if you decide to use the astro city mini arcade stick but im sure for other controllers and arcade sticks it was incredibly easy
