Pros & Cons
Pros
The tape is very comfortable and provides a bit more grip than other popular tapes, which i appreciate off-road. Matches my charge spoon saddle beautifully. Just enough padding for comfort, but i wear padded gloves anyway.
These wraps are certainly thick which makes applying them a little cumbersome. If you are new to wrapping handlebars or have little patients i would suggest having your local shop put this tape on for you! Definitely helpful to look up youtube videos ... Read More
Easy enough to install after the cap issues. Hard to put on by yourself but not any harder than any previous grip i have installed. Comes with finishing tape and small strips for under your hoods as well as nice looking bar plugs.
Cloth finishing tape can be removed and reinstalled by heating it. Texture and satin-like finish. A product from the excellent brooks company, gives a vintage look with a cloth strap closure.
Cons
This handlebar tape is extremely stiff, and requires significant amount of effort to wrap. I literally have to pull on this tape with about 30 pounds of force to get it to conform to bends. The not-stretchy fabric finishing tape is the color of a band... Read More
Brooks' is not stamped anywhere on the tape, so to a passerby it's just generic brown synthetic bar tape. Bought this bar tape relying on the good brooks reputation for quality. Would not purchase again.
Highlights
Quality
Great grip tape, super comfy and easy to install.
Super nice, comfy and durable, i used and reused this tape a bunch of times and it’s still holding up
I can’t recommend these yet because i can’t say how durable they are, but my first impression is 5/5!
I have wrapped quite a few handlebars over the years and this is by far the most difficult tape to work with.
Price
If you are worried about that, then have your local bike shop install it perfectly for about $20.
Packaging/appearance
Really appreciated the fact that the package contained pre-cut tape for these spots underneath the breaks, adhesive under the c... Read More
Nice retro style bar tape it matches beautifully with my 80's colnago!
But gorgeous, well packaged, and high quality.
I got the antique brown and the color was much nicer than other pictures made it seem.
Competitiveness
The tape is very comfortable and provides a bit more grip than other popular tapes, which i appreciate off-road.
