They start firm, but the cushioning and flexibility increases with wear. No rubbing or blisters at all. These are the only casual trail shoes hubby will wear.

Great shoes with fantastic grip of road with great arch support.

Great walkers that have been very durable after 4 months of regular use around the neighborhood and on trails.

After a week and more than 120 miles they still look like new (other than dusty)

These are really light compared to the salomon xr pros.
