Pros

Youtube has a plethora of videos that will make using this serger a breeze. I have a friend who has a pricey bernina who assisted me initially. I like the led light but it isn't very bright, you'll want good lighting in your room as well.

Highly recommended for newbies. This is my 1st serger ever, & i am so glad i gave this particular one a chance.

It does all of the things that i need it to do as an advanced beginner/intermediate sewer.

I sew and sell my handcrafted garments and accessories. The stitching is perfect. It also cuts and sew through at six layers of fabric.

I wish i had known how this knife retracted before i purchased. I can serge about 12” and one of the threads goes askew and i have to rethread.

I read a lot of reviews before settling on the 1034dx.

Competitiveness

Having never used a serger before this one was super easy to use and trouble shoot.

You have to become familiar with using a serger and learn threading these machines.

I did not realize one could use a serger to sew and finish seams at same time (being new to a serger).

I was hesitant to buy this “cheaper” serger vs one of the ones that are twice or more the price.
