Pros & Cons
Pros
The printer is a thermal printer (so no ink or toner needed) and the machine cuts the labels for you when it is done printing. We have our own custom badge with a logo and the badges look great. I use this to print address labels on 1 wide reels, and ... Read More
Not the fanciest printer out there, but great at what it is intended to do. Seems to be very solidly built and is typical of the quality that i've learned to expect from brother. This labelmaker really works smoothly and produces a very neat label.
This requires additional software and configuration on my travel router. The brother website lets me download individual computer apps or a single installation app that installs all necessary software. The one feature in the software that i really rea... Read More
Durable and well manufactured. Cost is very favorable against other similar models. The labels seem durable and don't smudge or smear.
Easy to install. Plenty of options for customizing the labels. I'm not too tech savvy so i usually struggle with new stuff.
Highlights
Quality
I needed something easy to use with great quality.
This label maker is a great quality and easy to use.
Unfortunately, the windows-based software all seem very outdated and looks like they were designed 10-15 years ago.

Price
I hesitated to spend the money on a label machine, but it is amazing how much i have used it for.
I like this little printer--it's a good device (at a nice price) when i need to print larger labels than i can with my older, p... Read More
I was able to use the labels from my old 500 printer so i’m not wasting money.
I'm here to tell you that a fair purchase price does not mean that it's a poor quality printer.
Shipping
I received this printer on friday and was printing perfect labels for my bin storage system later in the evening.
Packaging/appearance
I had arthritis in my joints, so i print labels on envelopes without writing anything.
I've been using this printer to make address labels and to identify boxes that i've been packing in anticipation for a move.
Competitiveness
I gave it 4 stars because it's impossible to use anything other than brothers labels since the labels come already attached to the spool.
Going forward we will be looking at other brands.
