Pros

Print quality is excellent, even on the most economical setting. Double sided printing is pretty easy too. Paper tray holds a decent amount of paper too.

Can reproduce a good gray scale (from what i can see, it has a distinction of about 7 steps - i. It's exactly what i was looking for in a printer) this printer is remarkable in it's simplicity. It is fantastic.

Cons

It continually thinks it is jammed when it is not. Paper jams are inevitable.

The cost of toner cartridges for this printer have skyrocketed in the last few years to the point where it is no longer cost effective. It was used, and missing drum unit and toner cartridge.

Since the hl-2140 was out of stock for replacement i return it. This was not disclosed. Go to you tube and do a search.

Quality

It has also been easy to operate, and the print quality is good.

It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but the print quality is good and i get a ton of pages from each cartridge.

Some fiddling with the software is necessary to shut off the low toner lights, but not as intrusive as most other brands.

Price

I will buy again, price is great also.

I'm looking around to buy a second printer for my parents, the only problem is that the price of it sky rocketed!

I recently got one that did not work and one that was broken because of improper packaging.

Finally had to remove the toner and shake it side to side .

Competitiveness

Using the rosewill cartridges and get perfect cheap copies with very quiet, reliable operation.

I just connected the last one that i bought and it was packaged beautifully and it works like a champ.

Won't print 1200 dpi, should be some way to use my 12gb computer memory 'printerspooling' i think it's called.

I have calculated my per page cost at less than one cent.
