Best b/w laser printer out there for the money. Brother customer service is a1 excellent service. Brothers use to offer excellent tech support.

Even with toner save mode on it's only slightly lighter and still easy to read. Print quality is very good for me even at 300 dpi and save toner mode. Has withstood some cray-cray print jobs!

Previously had 4-in-1s as add-ons to computer purchase.

It seems to go on and off at random and sometimesit prints ok anyway, and sometimes won't print at all. When printing numbered checks, the only way to get them in the proper number order is to manually collate them. It is loud when it prints.

If you hit the on button six times, it overrides and will work again -- for awhile. Within 12 to 15 months they stop functioning. The sensor is cheap and breaks easily.

After reading glowing reviews, right here on amazon. Unfortunately, it has many quirks that can be wasteful and irritating. This one is so simple as to be awkward to use and cumbersome.

Toner is a conman ripoff. Cartridges are far from empty when the toner light comes on. I suppose i should try another cartridge but that would cost more than i paid for the printer.
