Pros

I prefer hard wire hook ups to my equipment which seems to make installation a lot easier with some equipment. Great printer.

Cons

Printer does not come with a printer cable. Only works via usb, not wireless. Very frustrating. Couldn't stay connected via usb for a week.

After 250 pages, the printer refuses to use a perfectly valid cartridge, trying to force you to buy a new cartridge. This is unnecessary and it should be as simple as sliding a new toner in and out, not messing with the levers and mechanism and gettin... Read More

There is a very noticeable 3-5 second lag even when the printer is warmed up before it prints. When printing, the printer will randomly start spewing out blank pages until the printer runs out of paper; then you have to unplug it and reboot to restore... Read More

Works like a charm had it a few years now no problems replaced a previous brother quality product

I've had no issues with print quality or paper jams-- love this printer!

But we had an awful time getting it installed with the router.

Shipping

You do have less options with paper, but for what i need it for (basic b&w printing and shipping labels) it works fine.

It warms up fast and prints fast.

I don't print much but i mainly needed a printer for shipping labels and legal documents.

Competitiveness

I'm using it on a mac network.

At the current price of over $200, it would better to look at a newer model.
